Light, creamy and kissed with lemon, this summer-ready spaghetti dish brings big flavor with minimal effort. Fresh basil and garlic round out the sauce, while lemon zest and Parmesan add the perfect finishing touch. It’s a quick, refreshing twist on traditional pasta — perfect for warm evenings.

Lemon Spaghetti Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti pasta
  • 3 tablespoons salt
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 11/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Freshly minced basil (plus more for garnish)
  • Lemon peels (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Boil water in a tall pot.

2. Add the salt to the water before adding the pasta.

3. When the water is boiling, cook the pasta for 7 minutes or until al dente (firm to the bite).

4. In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil.

5. Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute.

6. Stir in the butter until melted.

7. Add the lemon juice and heavy cream; stir to combine.

8. Add the Parmesan, then the basil, stirring gently.

9. Add the cooked pasta and toss to coat evenly.

10. Plate the spaghetti and garnish with minced basil and small slices of lemon peel. Lemon slices and whole basil leaves also make a nice garnish.

11. Serve immediately with a small bowl of extra freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

Bon Appetit!
